James Rich received a BFA in musical theater from Syracuse University.
Prior to that he studied art and design at the Fashion Institute of Technology (NYC). For more than 20 years the multi-gifted artist has worked as a performer
as well as behind the scenes in the entertainment industry. James’s stage credits include singing backup for Harry
Belafonte, the first national tour of “Rent” (Benny), “Saturday Night Fever” on Broadway, Off-Broadway
and lead roles in numerous regional theater productions. On screen, James guest starred on “Everybody Loves Raymond,” “As
The World Turns” and numerous National Commercial spots.

A member of the Costume Designers Guild, James was an Assistant Designer for the Emmy Award winning Season
2 of “Dancing With the Stars.” Additionally, he also designed costumes for the highly successful “That’s
Dancin’” onboard Crystal Cruises. His work has also been seen on regional theater stages. A
gifted photographer, James has taken photos of actors, dancers, models and stock (see his portfolios in the photography section
of this site). James has a unique perspective in the entertainment business that gives him a strong ability to move
easily between performing and being behind the scenes.
